Provincial Grand Chapter of East Kent - Annual Festival

An Honour Indeed

At the recent East Kent Provincial Grand Chapter Annual Convocation held at the Winter Gardens in Margate E. Comp. Stan Donald, of Chapter St. George Bahrain, was invested as a Provincial Grand Steward.
This is an honour indeed, being in the gift of the Most Excellent The Grand Superintendent; and is a reflection of the esteem in which those who are awarded this honour are held.
In addition, being an “Active” Office, means that Stan and his fellow Provincial Grand Stewards will be required to attend on members of the Provincial Executive at Official Visits and similar occasions, putting him and his Chapter in the public eye in a special and unique manner.
On a lighter note, in Lodge St George Bahrain, W. Bro. Dave Hart was similarly honoured and held this active post for two years; but not wishing him to become overly awed by this honour, he very soon became known as “Pinkie” Hart amongst his peers and friends, on account of the distinctive colour of the Provincial Grand Stewards apron and collar.
This leads me to wonder whether or not E. Comp. Stan will now assume the honourific of “Pinkie” in Chapter St. George Bahrain, and if so what the relevant Tartan might be should he choose to adopt Highland Dress on Official Visits?
We all applaud Stan upon receiving this honour, and look forward to meeting with him on Official Visits and toasting him with a suitable tipple when we meet at Chapter – well done Stan!
